Shout out to my homegirl Nacho - such a good job on this!

MARIAH CAREY FT MIGUEL “BEAUTIFUL”

Such a pretty song, but when I first heard it I thought, if this were Taylor Swift and [insert white male country music star] this would be a hit on the country charts. Just a thought.

SELENA GOMEZ “COME AND GET IT”

I feel like this is a song Rihanna didn’t take.

“As we crossed Blackwell’s Island, a limousine passed us, driven by a white chauffeur, in which sat three modish Negroes, two bucks and a girl. I laughed aloud as the yolks of their eyeballs rolled toward us in haughty rivalry.” - The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

This moment in the movie stuck with me - black people don’t play a huge part in this story so I feel like the symbolism by making sure this one line of the book made it in the movie and having Jay Z playing while they were partying in the back seat made a point: We were there, and we weren’t all poor servants.

This soundtrack is SO GOOD. Worth purchasing - spend your money.

IGGY AZALEA “BOUNCE”

This song and video is so divisive - people either respect her for “trying something new” or hate it and her for “trying too hard” - I’m somewhere in the middle.
